caBIG SSPP

Cancer Biomedical Informatics Grid Support Services

As a leader in health research technology, SRA has been doing bioinformatics for more than a decade. Among the projects we support are:

• The NCI-NHGRI Cancer Genome Atlas Data Coordinating Center and Data Portal
• The NCI-Nature Pathway Interaction Database
• Analysis using the Cancer Genome Workbench
• GoMiner from NCI’s Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology
• The NIAID Enteropathogen Resource Integration Center (ERIC), one of eight Bioinformatics Resource Centers for Biodefense and Infectious Disease
• Support for the NCI intramural microarray database, mAdb

In September 2008, SRA was awarded a license from caBIG® to act as a participant in the NCI caBIG Support Service Provider Program (SSPP), for support of the deployment of caBIG applications.

This support includes:

• Procurement and provisioning of hardware, operating systems, and other software
• Installation and configuration of caBIG software
• Legacy data transformation and migration
• Integration of multiple caBIG tools and caBIG-compatible applications

This support may also include data management, security services, hosting, performance tuning, network connectivity, grid enablement and maintenance of web servers/databases, and application specific administrative IT tasks.
