If I currently have ORIONMagic will I lose this data?
Analyst can be safely installed on the same system that is currently running ORIONMagic and the original ORIONMagic data will remain intact. During the installation process, Analyst will provide you with the option to create a converted copy of your ORIONMagic data into the new Analyst.
Where is Analyst installed?
Analyst installs into two default locations.
The first location is C:\Program Files\SRA\Analyst.
When Analyst is initialized, it copies files from here to the default user area:
C:\Documents and Settings\<login id>\Local Settings\Application Data\SRA\Analyst
If more than one user logs on to the same system [with a different ID] and they use Analyst, each user will have their own user area.
How do I copy Folders and Notecards to another location?
- Select the Folder or Notecard, or ctrl-click for multiple selections of Folders and/or Notecards.
- While holding the ctrl key drag and drop the selection into the new location.
I’ve installed Analyst but can’t seem to initialize it.
Analyst updates the Windows Registry. If Analyst initialization fails, perhaps you don’t have the ability to update the registry or add anything to your user area under C:\Documents and Settings. Check with your system administrator.
Can I share my Analyst user home directory with another user?
The user area should not be shared.
I just installed dtSearch and now Analyst does not work.
Analyst uses the dtSearch engine. Both applications can coexist on the same system provided they use the same dtSearch engine version. Please contact Analyst Support for additional information.
Reports
I’d like to place pictures that are in the Images Tab in specific locations for a report.
Depending on what style sheet is used, images are added to the bottom or top of a report. To force an image to a particular location within the report:
- Go to the notecard in question.
- Insert the following:
<INSERTIMAGE:#>
in the Summary area of the card to the specific location you want the image to display.
The # corresponds to the number of the image you have in the Image tab. If you have 10 images and you want to place the tenth as the first image to be shown in the report, you would use:
<INSERTIMAGE:10>
